How not to drive a Lamborghini [VIDEO]

A group of friends pull up behind a yellow Lamborghini at a stop light. The Gallardo’s big engine note provides the opening soundtrack, and then the friends in the car hypothesize about what will happen.
“He’s going to fly.”
“He has so much room.”

And then, this happened:

Popular app rates a person’s ugly factor, bullying experts concerned

An iPhone app that rates the ugliness of a face is catapulting up the charts following a radio mention – even though bullying experts are sounding the alarm.

Ugly Meter works by taking a picture of your face, and then scanning it for certain facial features. A green bar glides across the face, drawing polymetric shapes surrounding a person’s facial structure.

The app then produces a score out of ten on the “Ugly Meter.” And with this app, you’ll want to score like you do with golf: the lower the score, the better.

Music Monday: Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know feat. Kimbra (Tiësto Remix)

This week I’m selecting a great track that’s been given the remix treatment by the world’s greatest DJ. It’s the Tiesto remix of Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know.’

The Dutch DJ’s remix was first played on his Clublife podcast several weeks ago, and has just been published on his Clublife Miami compilation available now. Golden remix, great album too.

The opinion doesn’t come from just some tech blogger, such as myself. Instead, it comes from the president of web security firm Kaspersky.

Are you a Geek Dad?

Every neighbourhood or family friend has one. The can troubleshoot a PC infested with more viruses than a lab’s petri dish. They can restore a once-dead Internet connection by typing in some strange numbers in a web browser. When it seems like the cable box can’t talk to the TV, they turn the two foes into best friends.

It’s the Geek Dad – a character Linksys has tried to sum up in this neat infographic.

Music Monday: Deadmau5 – The Veldt

My Music Monday pick comes from none other than Canadian DJ/producer Deadmau5.

His latest track was posted “officially” to YouTube just a few days ago after a few bootlegs and crummy versions made their way online.

In this case, it features the vocals of UK singer Chris James along with the calm yet melodic beats from Mr. Zimmerman. This may quite possibly be one of the anthems of Summer 2012. What do you think?

Olympus OM-D review

Review: Olympus captures it right with the OM-D

Olympus OM-D reviewCould a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera be considered a serious alternative to full-on DSLRs? It appears Olympus may have done the trick with its new OM-D E-M5.

The camera, which resembles the OM from yesteryear, is hitting stores with an incredibly nostalgic look while packing impressively modern features.

Especially when it’s wearing its silver coating, the E-M5 sports a classic old-school film camera look. But that’s about where most of the comparisons with the camera of yesteryear end.
